Charlene Nadalin is a social entrepreneur in Toronto who is working to combat the effects of loneliness among older adults. She’s the Founder of Amintro, a free social platform and information hub designed for people aged 50+ who may feel lonely and/or socially isolated. The idea for Amintro came to Nadalin in 2012. Her mother, Marge, had been widowed 11 years earlier at the age of 56. Marge was independent and active, but over time, she had become increasingly alone, says Nadalin. Like many women of her generation, Marge was focused on family and work in her younger years, and she didn’t have much time to socialize or nurture friendships. Nadalin wanted to help her mom connect with other older adults and make new friends. Noticing that her mom used social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, the idea of Amintro was born- an accessible platform for her to make new friends and find activities easily. Amintro was launched in 2018 to provide her mom with an easy way to make new friends locally and access activities and experiences to share with her new friends.

Dr. Miguel-Cruz's research focuses on the development and assessment, and user adoption of technologies for rehabilitation assessments and interventions, and ways technologies can help older adults and family caregivers. A central theme to his research is to develop a home-centred sensor and voice-based intelligent personal-assistant platform to manage frailty in older adults. His long-term goal is to implement an ambient zero-effort platform to (1) identify hidden vulnerabilities, create evidence-based frailty-prevention recommendations for older adults, their families and healthcare professionals to strengthen "anti-frailty" activities through the delivery of personalized interventions; and (2) to determine the impact of these interventions on healthcare outcomes.

Hanna Paul
OTR/L
Hanna is a former OT who practiced as a traveling therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area for 2 years. She was exposed to the tech scene and was eager to know how she could apply her OT skillset to a career in health care tech. Working part-time for two start-up companies, (one by leading the clinical trails and another in product demonstration), these opportunities solidified Hanna's desire to leave the clinical world for the world of tech. Through much trial and error, Hanna finessed her skillset in marketing herself as a hirable applicant for non-clinical roles by developing her personal brand, learning the in's and out's to LinkedIn and by networking with others in her local community. Hanna is passionate about people and now works for a telehealth company, Vytal Health that is rooted in Functional Medicine. She is involved in leading creative development by contributing to cross-functional projects from product design, user experience, customer success, as well as designing out operational systems that set our patients up for success. She spends a lot of my time designing out happiness generating experiences as patients transition from clinical care to virtual care. It was at a networking event that Hanna was able to challenge the idea of being anything other than OT when a speaker asked the audience, “how many of you are doing something in your career that has anything to do with your degree?”, only 25% of the room raised their hands. That was enough for Hanna to realize her OT skillset was applicable in any field she desired to enter.

Iris Kimberg
MS PT, OTR
Iris Kimberg MS PT, OTR is no stranger to the business world. She started her first company, HTA of New York, Inc. from scratch 35 years ago, at a time when therapy agencies as we know them today did not exist. When she sold the company in 1996, it had three branch offices, 700 affiliated therapists and was generating $14 million in revenue. During the time when Iris was under a non-compete clause and not able to work in the industry, her idea to be a consultant was born. “After the initial thrill of not working wore off, I realized how much I missed interacting with all the therapists I had grown to know through my company. So they began to call me at home, and eventually the talk would turn to therapy.” I clearly saw that there was a need for a consulting company where therapists either already in private practice or thinking about private practice could turn to for advice in this rapidly changing and competitive health care market.” Then 9/11 happened and the 14 OT and PT practices in my Downtown NYC neighborhood were destroyed, shuttered or damaged. I immediately began consulting with them to help get them back into business and have not stopped since.

In 2011, Sarah launched OT Potential because she realized we needed a reliable source of quality occupational therapy-related content and resources. She has also had the opportunity to create content for brands like WebPT, MedBridge, Saebo, and NeuroLutions. She launched the OT Potential Club in 2019 to marry her love of simplifying complex topics with her desire to help therapists access the most important OT-related research released each year. Sarah is a prairie girl at heart, which is why she returned to her hometown of Aurora, Nebraska (home of the strobe light) to raise her children.

Hey there! I’m Trish.
CEO and Founder at TWC
Each obstacle I’ve overcome has made me ready for this work!
I'm a warm, outspoken, driven Canadian OT turned business coach with a passion for helping other OT entrepreneurs build a profitable and lasting business.
I have been an OT for 27 years and built two successful businesses. Whether you’re looking for biz coaching related to an OT practice or an outside-the-box idea. I’ve got you covered.
I draw from a wealth of experiences from my 10 years as the owner of a bricks-and-mortar clinic, Spring OT. Meaning I understand those very maddeningly specific business questions unique to OT practice.
I get what it's like to have aspirations outside of the clinical setting. In the pursuit of leveraged offers that could impact more OTs, I launched an online summit, built a coaching program, and developed my own VIP Day. That’s right, I have the experience to help you bring your great idea to life as a money-making machine.
My #1 goal is to lay it all on the table to empower you with the tools and resources you need. It’s time for you to step out from under frustration, overwhelm, and feelings of unworthiness into your power as a leader, change-maker, and successful business owner.
I spent years as an entrepreneur working IN my business instead of ON my business, and I now know (and can share!) the benefits of truly embodying a CEO lifestyle.
I’ve done a lot of growing (and it never truly ends) and unlocked keys to success in business and in life.
In a distinctly OT way.
