This talk will discuss learnings from our research in Canada on enhancing equitable access to assistive technology and explore opportunities for collaboration locally, regionally, and globally to facilitate access to beneficial technologies.

Game On! Therapeutic Gaming For the Win!

More than 3 billion people worldwide play video games. In the United States (U.S.), more than 200 million people play video games. Of those, 46 million people have a disability. Seventy-five percent of U.S. households have at least one person who plays video games. Sixty-five percent of people who play video games, play with others. Through discussion and use case videos we’ll explore therapeutic and adaptive gaming, connect therapeutic gaming with therapeutic goals, and demonstrate how to integrate evidence-based strategies with therapeutic gaming in rehabilitation.
