Bringing a new product to market: Everything you need to know to do it successfully!
You have an idea for a new product. Now what? This presentation is geared specifically for PTs OTs and STs and other health professionals in the beginning stages of launching a new product for sale in mass market channels. Therapists are uniquely skilled at creating bespoke solutions to improve daily function for their patients, and many of these products can be translated into successful product offerings to a broader audience. Advanced technology has existed in the field of rehabilitation medicine for years, however, consistent and effective integration continues to be a challenge for many rehabilitation settings. Despite consistent claims of safety, feasibility, increased repetition in desired skills, and popularity among clients, this treatment paradigm has not surpassed conventional treatment as the standard of practice. This course will incorporate opportunities for technology assessment and sharing of success stories from clinicians who are integrating advanced technology effectively in their areas of practice to improve client outcomes.
Technology Acceptance and Usability in Rehabilitation
In this session, we are going to identify the main theoretical frameworks used in technology acceptance and usability studies; describe the principal methods for measuring technology acceptance and testing usability; and recognize, through some examples, how technology acceptance and usability have been investigated in rehabilitation.
How the Therapeutic Process Mimics Design
While transitioning into the User Experience Research world from a career in Occupational Therapy, Jonas Raider recognized that there were far more crossovers of information that existed between the therapy and design world than previously expected.
