Dr. Antonio Miguel-Cruz

DrSc, MSc, NucEng

Dr. Miguel-Cruz's research focuses on the development and assessment, and user adoption of technologies for rehabilitation assessments and interventions, and ways technologies can help older adults and family caregivers. A central theme to his research is to develop a home-centred sensor and voice-based intelligent personal-assistant platform to manage frailty in older adults. His long-term goal is to implement an ambient zero-effort platform to (1) identify hidden vulnerabilities, create evidence-based frailty-prevention recommendations for older adults, their families and healthcare professionals to strengthen "anti-frailty" activities through the delivery of personalized interventions; and (2) to determine the impact of these interventions on healthcare outcomes.
