
Dr. Flavio Oliveira
Flavio Oliveira, MD, PhD (he/him) is a resident physician and surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford. He received his MD degree from the University of California - San Francisco, and PhD in cognitive neuroscience from the University of California - Berkeley. Prior to becoming a physician, he worked within engineering and product development at Google and Facebook in their early days. He now combines his experience as a technologist and surgeon to help develop medical and health technologies that improve the lives of patients. He is an advisor to multiple companies and the main author and a co-investigator on a research and development project that partners Stanford and Starkey Hearing Technologies to develop and test hearing aids capable of detecting falls and estimating fall risk.
