Sarah Karmali
My career started as an Occupational Therapist where I used my knowledge and passion for accessibility to improve the independence and patient experience for individuals with disabilities. I loved being able to use the insights from user research to make an impact for patients in a critical care setting.
Over time, I realized a lot of what I was doing was around improving UX and I wanted to do more of that but for everyone. So, I pursued a master's in human centered design and engineering from University of Washington and started working as a contractor/vendor on the Microsoft 365 Admin Center team, where I did a lot of work understanding IT admins experiences with change management within enterprise and small business companies. After a couple years in that role, I landed my first FTE UX researcher role on the Microsoft digital studio support team.
Outside of work, I love to play tennis and read :)
